The Riviera del Brenta is the area of great historical-landscape interest that develops along the Naviglio del Brenta, or the stretch of the Brenta between the town of Stra and its original mouth in Fusina.
Starting from the 16th century, the richest Venetian families began to reclaim and organize this vast area by investing in farms.
To accommodate the wealthy owners, the first mansions were built, which became rich country houses of classic taste in the middle of a large farm and flanked by the "barchessa", the rural service building. Over time, the villa became in all respects the holiday home enriched by beautiful frescoes and spectacular gardens.
To date, the architectural heritage of villas and gardens is remarkable and remains a reminder of the glorious past of the Serenissima on the mainland.
